The Energy Day would deal with all aspects of energy and climate change. Invasion of Ukraine has led to terrible humanitarian consequences for the Ukrainian population, a profound economic impact on Europe as a whole, and worsening tensions in international commodity markets, especially energy markets. As a consequence, the current situation is increasing the speed and the ambition of the energy transition. Including renewable energy and energy transformation, with a specific focus on just transition in the energy sector, and Green hydrogen as a potential energy source for the future. It would also include energy efficiency and ways to manage the envisaged global just transition in energy. Spain has organized this sessions in the Spanish Pavillion to show the Spanish Case in order to provide an example of how the aceleration of energy transition can maximice the opportunities that this transition involves. International organizations will stress the importance to acceletrate this energy transition especially in this context.

Spain is a reference at the international level in terms of renewable energy potential, energy transition policy and value chain. In an complex contex in Europe, Spain's response has been clear: we need more, faster and better energy transition. Climate change is a main concern in Spain and the energy transition agenda has been at the center of the political and social landscape. In this panel, the Secretary of State for Energy from Spain will outline the key policy priorities, challenges and lessons learnt, and will give way to a debate with civil society and private sector to understand how corporations, NGOs and academia are contributing to make the energy transition have a wider support base and happen faster, and better. This will link over to the "case studies" session in the afternoon.
