Renewable hydrogen is becoming one of the key elements in energy policy worldwide. In october 2020, Spain published its renewable hydrogen roadmap, which has proven to be transformative in terms of triggering new projects, key alliances between companies and sectors, and orienting investment decisions in the private sector. This panel will bring together leaders to share the key aspects of their approach to renewable hydrogen on a lively debate on public-private collaboration to ensure the development of the renewable hydrogen economy.
It's our time: youth participation for climate action and energy transition.

Education and participation in climate action are key to finding long-term solutions to the climate crisis with an intersectional and rights-based approach. Plan International and UNICEF youth representatives will share experiences, opinions and ideas to include gender and age perspective in education, participation and access to information in climate action.

Just Transition as a mechanism for green jobs creation, reindustrialization and energy decarbonization

Spain has a Just Transition Strategy, aimed at ensuring the creation of opportunities specifically in the areas facing phase-out of coal-fired power plants. This strategy is allowing the creation of new industries and jobs in these areas, with an intense collaboration between the power plant owners, trade unions and local communities. In this event we will discuss what Spain has done well: social dialogue, increasing employment, innovative policies such as the knot and talking about cross-cutting issues such as gender.
